Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead commercial interior build-outs, biolab renovations, and advanced technology facility construction. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of complex MEP systems, cleanroom standards, and high-spec finishes, and can drive field operations from start to finish. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate specialized subcontractors while maintaining schedule, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities: Field Operations & Leadership
  • Oversee day-to-day site activities for interior fit-outs, lab upgrades, and tech infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate MEP-intensive scopes, including fume hoods, lab casework, HVAC systems, and building automation.
  • Ensure all work meets architectural, engineering, and cleanroom requirements for lab and technology spaces.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and drive progress to meet milestone dates.
Scheduling & Project Coordination
  • Maintain and update look-ahead schedules, sequencing trades for high-efficiency workflow.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to resolve conflicts, delays, or scope changes.
  • Interface with building engineers, client representatives, and inspectors throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Control & Safety Oversight
  • Enforce adherence to plans, specifications, and high-finish detail requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, punch lists, and QA/QC reviews for specialized installations.
  • Maintain a zero-incident safety culture, conducting toolbox talks and implementing safety protocols.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the on-site representative for the project team, liaising directly with clients and consultants.
  • Provide clear, proactive communication and reporting to stakeholders on progress and site conditions.
  • Manage expectations around lab commissioning, turnover, and occupancy readiness.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on interior, lab, or high-tech environments.
  • Proven success overseeing biotech, pharmaceutical, R&D, cleanroom, or data center projects.
  • Strong knowledge of technical installations, air and water balancing, and commissioning requirements.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, MS Project, or similar field management tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
