Senior Superintendent

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Superintendent with a strong background in commercial construction and a proven ability to manage on-site operations while building exceptional client relationships. The ideal candidate combines technical field leadership with the interpersonal skills necessary to represent the company professionally and maintain high levels of client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. This role is best suited for a seasoned field leader who is as comfortable leading subcontractors as they are presenting progress updates and resolving concerns with owners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: On-Site Construction Leadership
  • Oversee day-to-day construction operations, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage subcontractors, labor, equipment, and materials in alignment with project plans and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, safety records, and field reports.
  • Conduct site walkthroughs and coordinate inspections with city officials, consultants, and stakeholders.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
  • Serve as the primary on-site liaison for clients, architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Foster positive, solutions-oriented communication to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and reinforce trust.
  • Lead client site visits, deliver progress updates, and proactively manage expectations.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with client goals, timelines, and contract requirements.
Scheduling & Coordination
  • Develop and maintain detailed look-ahead schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project milestones.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to anticipate and resolve potential schedule risks.
  • Coordinate trade sequencing, material deliveries, and site logistics with minimal disruption.
Safety & Quality Assurance
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety excellence, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Conduct safety meetings, site inspections, and corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Monitor and inspect work to ensure compliance with quality standards and project documents.
Leadership & Mentorship
  • Supervise and mentor junior superintendents, foremen, and field staff.
  • Promote team accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement on-site.
  • Participate in performance reviews and support staff development.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years as a lead or senior superintendent.
  • Demonstrated success managing client relationships on high-profile or fast-paced projects.
  • Expertise in ground-up construction, tenant improvements, multi-story, or complex renovation projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction means and methods, safety standards, and field operations.
  • Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
