Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and proactive
Senior Safety Manager to lead and oversee the safety programs for our construction projects. The Senior Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, and stakeholders. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of safety regulations, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety excellence across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities: - Safety Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and training programs in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Implement company-wide safety initiatives and ensure alignment with project-specific requirements.
- Evaluate and update safety protocols to reflect changes in regulations, industry best practices, and project needs.
- Site Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Perform safety audits, document findings, and develop corrective action plans to address deficiencies.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety standards and provide guidance as necessary.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, subcontractors, and management teams.
- Ensure all personnel are knowledgeable about site-specific safety requirements and emergency procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workshops to reinforce safety awareness.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Investigate all incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on incidents, including recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Communicate findings and lessons learned to management and project teams.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, including training logs, incident reports, and inspection checklists.
- Serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Leadership and Culture Building:
- Promote a culture of safety excellence across all levels of the organization.
- Act as a safety mentor and resource for employees, subcontractors, and management.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into all phases of construction.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction safety management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety best practices, and construction industry standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
