Senior Project Manager to lead and manage large-scale commercial and public works construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in overseeing the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, and delivery. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of managing complex projects on time and within budget while fostering strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities: - Project Leadership:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of commercial and public works construction projects.
- Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction to closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Identify project milestones, resource needs, and potential risks, implementing solutions to address challenges proactively.
- Lead regular project meetings to align all stakeholders on progress and expectations.
- Financial Oversight:
- Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
- Oversee cost management, including reviewing and approving change orders, forecasts, and subcontractor invoices.
- Perform regular financial reviews to maintain cost control and identify potential savings opportunities.
- Team Management:
- Lead and mentor project teams, including assistant project managers, project engineers, and field staff.
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on accountability and high performance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide opportunities for professional development.
- Quality and Safety Management:
- Ensure all construction activities comply with quality standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
- Client and Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and public agencies, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project updates, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Represent the company at client meetings, presentations, and public forums as required.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial and/or public works construction, including 5+ years in a senior project management role.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements for commercial and public works projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with public contracting processes, prevailing wage requirements, and local building codes.
