Senior Project Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of commercial construction projects. The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple aspects of a project, including documentation, scheduling, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Technical Support:
  • Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of all phases of construction projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to resolve technical issues and ensure construction aligns with project specifications.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, contracts, and specifications to identify potential conflicts or challenges.
  • Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, and change orders while ensuring timely approvals and responses.
Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain and update all project documentation, including meeting minutes, logs, reports, and correspondence.
  • Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam) to track progress, maintain records, and ensure document control.
  • Generate weekly progress reports and assist in preparing client presentations.
Scheduling & Cost Management:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, tracking milestones, and identifying potential delays.
  • Support cost tracking, budget monitoring, and financial reporting to ensure projects remain within financial constraints.
  • Coordinate material procurement and ensure deliveries align with the construction schedule.
Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance:
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets project standards and specifications.
  • Enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, safety policies, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to ensure a safe work environment and address any safety concerns.
Client & Stakeholder Communication:
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Attend project meetings, provide status updates, and assist in addressing client concerns.
  • Assist in contract administration, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a senior project engineering role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management software.
  • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and contract management.
  • Communication: Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and written/verbal communication skills.
