Job Summary: We are seeking a
detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to support
the planning and execution of commercial construction projects. The
Project Engineer will assist in
project coordination, documentation, scheduling, and quality control, working closely with
project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed
on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. This role is ideal for an individual looking to build a strong foundation in
construction management while gaining hands-on project experience.
Key Responsibilities: Project Coordination & Documentation: - Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and executing all phases of construction projects.
- Maintain and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, contracts, and change orders.
- Ensure construction documents are updated and properly distributed to project teams and subcontractors.
- Track procurement and material deliveries, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
Scheduling & Progress Tracking: - Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, tracking milestones and identifying potential delays.
- Assist in coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely execution of work.
- Conduct site visits and document progress reports, ensuring compliance with project timelines.
Quality Control & Safety Compliance: - Monitor job-site activities to ensure work is being completed per project specifications and quality standards.
- Assist in site inspections and help identify deficiencies, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Work closely with the safety team to enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Communication & Stakeholder Coordination: - Act as a liaison between project teams, subcontractors, and clients, facilitating effective communication.
- Attend project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items to ensure team alignment.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing reports, change orders, and cost-tracking documents.
Technical Support & Problem-Solving: - Review and analyze construction drawings and specifications, ensuring compliance with design intent.
- Assist with value engineering efforts, identifying cost-saving alternatives.
- Work with field teams to resolve technical challenges and streamline workflows.
Qualifications: Education & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- 1-5 years of experience in construction project engineering, coordination, or management.
- Familiarity with commercial, industrial, healthcare, or public works projects is a plus.
Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, materials, and site logistics.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
