Concrete Superintendent

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Concrete Superintendent to lead the field operations for structural and site concrete scopes on commercial and/or civil construction projects. This role requires deep technical knowledge of concrete construction methods, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate field teams, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality execution. The ideal candidate has experience with slab-on-grade, elevated decks, tilt-up, formwork systems, and finishing techniques.
Key Responsibilities: Field Leadership & Execution
  • Manage day-to-day concrete operations on site, including placing, forming, finishing, curing, and protection.
  • Supervise field crews, equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors involved in concrete scopes.
  • Develop and execute concrete pour plans, including sequencing, manpower, logistics, and delivery coordination.
  • Ensure all concrete work complies with plans, specifications, tolerances, and safety standards.
Scheduling & Coordination
  • Coordinate concrete activities with general contractor teams, superintendents, and trade partners.
  • Maintain and update look-ahead schedules, align workforce and materials accordingly.
  • Work closely with the project manager to identify schedule impacts and solutions.
Quality Control & Safety Enforcement
  • Oversee concrete mix verification, reinforcement placement, and finishing inspections.
  • Ensure proper curing techniques are followed to achieve specified strength and finish.
  • Enforce strict adherence to OSHA standards, site-specific safety plans, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections, addressing issues as they arise.
Material & Equipment Management
  • Coordinate and verify delivery of ready-mix concrete, rebar, embedded items, and formwork materials.
  • Manage and maintain all concrete tools, formwork systems, pumps, and placing equipment.
  • Track concrete volumes, delivery logs, and pour records for reporting and closeout documentation.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of hands-on field experience in concrete construction, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of formwork systems (Symons, Peri, EFCO, etc.), rebar installation, PT decks, and finishing practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and civil drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in field technology tools like Procore, Bluebeam, and mobile construction apps.
  • Excellent leadership, team coordination, and communication skills.
